Matt hails from the great state of Minnesota, growing up just north of the Twin Cities in the town of Forest Lake. After high school Matt enlisted in the Army, where he served from ’87 to ’91. He also served in the Minnesota National Guard, and it was during this time that he gave his life to Christ.

Matt graduated from Minnesota Bible College, began seminary at Lincoln Christian Seminary and completed his Master’s degree at Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Matt has served on staff at churches in Minnesota and Illinois, and two Christian colleges, as well.

Matt is married to Becky and they have two children: Reagan and Jackson. A devoted outdoorsman, North Point's minister enjoys nothing more than duck hunting, ice fishing, and just spending time in the great outdoors.

Associate Minister, Ryan Charest

Ryan was born and raised in Rapid City, SD. His home church, First Christian Church of Rapid City, is the "mother church" to North Point. With encouragement from his family and his youth minister, Bob Cole, Ryan decided to devote his life to full-time ministry while still in high school. Ryan, a four-year letterman in soccer, graduated from Nebraska Christian College.

An avid sportsman, Ryan has an abiding passion for fishing, golf, and baseball. His infectious joie de vivre is a blessing to all who know him. Ryan’s wife, Pam, also graduated from Nebraska Christian College and is currently a Registered Nurse. They have a three-year-old son, Reese, who could pitch a baseball at eight months, and a daughter, Lily, who is now 10 months old.

When asked what his greatest dream for North Point is, he replied, “Seeing unchurched people come to a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ!”
